چکیده
A new class of tridentate phosphine ligands with the general formula [MePACHTUNGTRENNUNG{(CH2)xPPh2}3] I (x=4, 7, 11) and [MePACHTUNGTRENNUNG(CH2PPh2)3] OTf , has been synthesized and fully characterized. The linkers have been immobilized on silica with their phosphonium moieties via electrostatic interactions, and their mobility and leaching has been studied by solid-state HR-MAS (high-resolution magic angle spinning) NMR in various solvents. Immobilized Wilkinson-type rhodium complexes have been obtained by ligand exchange with the surface-bound linkers. The activities and lifetimes of the catalysts have been tested with respect to the hydrogenation of 1-dodecene. The rhodium catalyst precursor bound by the immobilized linker [MePACHTUNGTRENNUNG{(CH2)7PPh2}3] I led to material with the highest activity and lifetime, and it could be recycled for 30 times in a batchwise manner. The other catalysts show shorter lifetimes. For all catalysts the formation of rhodium nanoparticles with a narrow size distribution around 4 nm has been proven.

Immobilization of Bisphosphinoamine Linkers on Silica: Identification of Previously Unrecognized Byproducts via 31P CP/MAS and Suspension HR-MAS Studies
A new bisphosphinoamine linker with ethoxysilyl group has been synthesized and applied for anchoring nickel catalysts to alumina and silica. Side reactions occurred, and the reactions of various bisphosphinoamine ligands with silica were studied by 31P CP/MAS and suspension HR-MAS NMR. Besides the desired immobilization, two main side reactions have been found. The phosphine moieties of the lin...
متن کاملSynthesis, structure, immobilization and solid-state NMR of new dppp- and tripod-type chelate linkers
Chelating phosphines incorporating ethoxysilane functions for immobilizations have been synthesized and fully characterized. (EtO)Si(CH2PPh2)3, (EtO)2Si(CH2PPh2)2, and Si(CH2PPh2)4 could be prepared in high yields from cheap starting materials. The ethoxysilanes, as well as a Pd complex thereof have been characterized by X-ray structures, and immobilized on silica. The success of the immobiliza...
متن کاملIn situ NMR spectroscopy in heterogeneous catalysis
New experimental techniques of in situ MAS NMR spectroscopy introduced in the past decade made this analytical method to a useful tool for the study of heterogeneously catalyzed reactions. Batch and flow techniques were applied to study reactions catalyzed by basic and acidic solids. The present review introduces into in situ MAS NMR investigations of transition states, e.g., via the H/D exchan...

New poly(vinyl alcohol)-graft-poly(ethylene glycol) (PVA-g-PEG) resins with various PEG chain lengths, which have high loadings and good swelling both in water and organic solvents, have been prepared via an anionic polymerization of ethylene oxide onto PVA beads and applied in solid-phase synthesis, supported TEMPO catalysis and in HR-MAS 1H NMR spectral analysis.
متن کاملImmobilization of Carbonylnickel Complexes: A Solid-State NMR Study
Silica is commonly modified with bifunctional phosphines like PPh2CH2CH2Si(OEt)3 prior to immobilization of catalysts. Here, besides PPh2(CH2)3Si(OEt)3, ligands that are more stable toward oxidation, namely PPh2(C6H4)Si(OEt)3, PPh2(C6H4)SiMe2(OEt), and PPh2(CH2)4OH, are applied. The diand tricarbonylnickel complexes of these ligands are synthesized, characterized by 61Ni, 31P, 13C, and 1H NMR a...
